One of the joys of living in Muswell Hill is that fact that we are spoiled for choice with the range of parks, woodlands and green spaces. We have been to all our local parks and playgrounds in the last couple of months. All are special in their own way and a little different. Why not try something new tomorrow?

 

Albert Road Recreation Ground, Albert Road, N22

Set between Alexandra Park School, Rhodes Avenue Primary School and Sunshine Garden Centre the park very popular for children of all ages. There is a playground for the younger children and a wooden obstacle course as well as tennis courts, basketball courts and vast open green.

Pavilion Café with a terrace overlooking the playing fields is reasonably priced and favorite place to meet other families.

 

Alexandra Park

Alexandra Palace is The place for a nice stroll with magnificent views over London. The park is a beautiful space and large enough to keep the kids busy. The play area is located near the boating lake and The Grove Café which has a good range of reasonably priced sandwiches, salads and pasta.

 

Bluebell Wood
, Winton Avenue, N11

Bluebell Wood is a small area of woodland located on the eastern edge of Muswell Hill near the Golf Course. It is a nice little spot to let the kids explore the woods, climb trees and dig in the dirt.

A popular local park in East Finchley on the borders of Fortis Green and meet-up point for the community. It has a playground for toddlers and small children and a large open green space.

 

Coldfall Wood
, Creighton Avenue, N10

Coldfall Wood is large area of ancient woodland covering 14 hectares. Children can follow a nature trail route to learn about the natural delights of our ancients woods. Halliwick Recreation Ground, Albion Avenue, N10

Located in the Barnet end of Muswell Hill, Halliwick has a recently refurbished playground for kids up to 14 years, an 11-a-side football pitch and tennis courts.

 

Highgate Woods, Muswell Hill Road, N10

Highgate Woods is one of our favorite places. It offers fun for the whole family and the chance to explore ancient woodlands. There is a junior and a toddlers playground, with equipment for 1 year old to 6 year old. Situated right next to it is a large adventure playground for the older kids. The café near the open green has a indoor and outdoor seating which serves delicious food and ice creams.

Muswell Hill Playing Fields, Coppetts Road, N10

The Playing Fields is a large open area near Coppetts Road. The playground is popular among the local families as are the 6 football and crickets pitches.

 

Queens Wood, Muswell Hill Road, N10

Right opposite Highgate Woods, Queens Wood is a much quieter spot of woodland with a miniature adventure playground and a community garden. The lovely café serves delicious food.
