Kicking off with the Warner Brothers Studio Tour

Expelliarmus! Behold the magical world of Harry Potter. On the studio tour, visitors can witness the intricate set, costume and model designs that brought Rawlings eclectic imagination to life. Next up, the Chiltern Open Air Museum

Open only between the months of March to October, the Chiltern Open Air Museum truly brings history to life. With themed events dedicated to iconic moments in history, your little people can witness enactments of gladiatorial battles, knights in medieval combat or experience the realities of Victorian living.

How to get there: Take M1 to the North, join M25 heading West (Heathrow), exit 17 towards Maple Cross (A412). Follow signs to Chiltern Open Museum. Post Code HP8 4AB. Estimated 50 minutes.


Zooming onto the RAF museum

Get lost in the exhibits steeped in British Aviator history. Families can learn the significance of Air Warfare and its effects on WW2 while moving from hanger to hanger marveling at these incredible machines.

How to get the there: Take North Circular Heading Watford, take A41 and follow signs. Post Code NW9 5LL. Estimated 25 minutes.


Much Ado about Hatfield House

With helicopter shows, craft fairs, open air Shakespearian plays, Hatfiied House isn’t just a pretty building. Children can explore the house itself, wonder the gardens or adventure in the parks, all the while soaking up this locations rich history.

How to get there: Follow A1(M) to Hatfield, take A1001 exit signed Welham Grn, Follow signs Great North Rd A1000, follow signs for Hatfield House. Post Code ALP5NQ. Estimated 45 minutes.


Knebworth House, Where tradition meets rock n roll

Home of Victorian novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton, the house is the perfect balance of history and fun! To begin your visit, take a walk through the unique ‘living museum’ before visiting the Dinosaur trail and adventure gardens.

How to get there: Take A1M North, at junction 7 take A 602 to Steavenage and follow sign to Knebworth House. Post code SG1 2AX. Estimated 35 minutes


Turn back time at Mountfitchet Castle and Village

This open air museum will transport you 900 years into history to experience the realities of Victorian life. Explore the castle; wonder the mock Victorian village and hand feed the freely roaming Fallow deer. There is even a Toy and Rock ‘n’ Roll exhibition!

Monkeying around at Whipsnade Zoo

Meet some of the world’s most incredible creatures. Feed the penguins and explore the brand new butterfly house, there is so much to learn and see.

How to get there: Follow M1 North, take junction 9 and follow signs to Whipsnade Zoo. Post code LU6 2LF. Estimated 50 minutes.


Now for some Brrrrriliant family fun at The Snow Centre

Try some family ski and snowboarding lessons, indoor sledging sessions and for the under 5s, a new snow garden with mini slope.

How to get there: Follow M1 North, Take Junction 8 (A414) to Hemel Hempstead, Bennets End Rd then Stalbans Hill. Post code HP3 9NH. Estimated 25 minutes.


For a dino-rific weekend, Rye-Assic Adventure Park

Kids and adults alike will be spoilt for choice at this Jurassic themed activity centre. Features include crazy golf, bowling, boat racing, indoor soft play, quad racing and even a trampoline centre!

How to get there: Take A10 North, take A1170 to Hoddesdon, turn Duke St, turn Stanstead R, turn Rye Rd. Post Code  EN11 0EH, Estimated 40 minutes.


Finally we are getting Zany at Kidzania!

Be inspired by this purpose built city where children aged 4-14 can try more than 60 real life roles, from fighting crime to fighting fires, the only limit is the ambition of imagination.

How to get there: Take North Circular A406, turn left A40 to Central London, take A219 signed to White City, Turn Right into Wood Lane. Post Code W12 7GA. Estimated 40 minutes.
