Read on for our favourite must see museums close to Muswell Hill.

Children need stimulation, it is a fact, it is in every parenting book you pick up and as parents we have been taught to ’stimulate our child‘s development‘ since our little ones arrived into this world, with bright colour sensory toys, sensory classes, baby signing, baby singing even! You name it and we have all tried it, but what about when they get older?

Children, from threenagers to teenagers still need their growing minds exercised but this becomes so much harder the older they get. Not only to balance their schooling career with extra curricular activities, with having some fun and some down time but there is also the parents schedule to consider. With children off school for an average 13 weeks every year and most families having two working parents, stimulating your little human can seem like an uphill battle.

I don’t know about you but this is where we find museums incredibly accommodating. They are low cost, educational, conversational, gets the kids up and out of the house, encourages bonding and frankly its fun…. does that make us geeks? Perhaps, but we are happy to shed our cool parent status for this one.

So, we’ve been thinking, researching and chatting, as a result we have found a list of must see museums all in and around North London.
